About Jennifer Kreft, MA, LMSW

Jennifer Kreft, MA, LMSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has provided services and therapy with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults for more than 15 years. Jennifer completed a Master’s degree in Counseling and Social Work at Michigan State University.
Jennifer has experience in developmental aspects of the whole-lifespan perspective and has a particular interest in helping people of all ages become more satisfied with themselves and their lives through developing coping skills, identifying new ways of thinking, and tapping into unseen resources. Considering all aspects of a person’s story, addressing goals, and building on individual strengths are some of the ways Jennifer provides opportunities for growth and healing in therapy.
Jennifer has experience with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Jennifer has had experience working in Health and Human Behavior research with families, school settings, case management of chronically ill and older adults, counseling specific to concerns of women and those in the LGBTQ+ community, counseling in adult mental health, and in individual psychotherapy.
Jennifer specializes in mood disorders, like anxiety and social anxiety, adjustment to transitions and life events, as well as providing treatment for those who have been exposed to a traumatic event. Special areas of treatment interest include pregnancy-related challenges.
Jennifer is also trained in Advanced Care Planning and offers counseling specific to end-of-lifespan health concerns and communication.
Jennifer’s approach to psychotherapy is based on interpersonal, integrative, and eclectic therapies. She believes that the whole system of relationships is crucial in gaining tools for creating better functioning, hope, trust, mindfulness, and healing. Empowering an individual person to make positive changes in life is Jennifer’s personal goal.
